Dr Azhar Ali BSc(Hons), MBChB, MRCGP(UK), MBA, FFCI
Director
Dr. Azhar Ali is a practicing Consultant in Family Medicine and has over 20 years of clinical experience and experience in digital health and global health. He is currently Managing Partner of the Forth Medical Group, one of the largest primary care groups in Scotland and heavily involved in Primary Care innovation. Dr. Ali is currently a faculty and formerly Head of Middle East & Asia-Pacific at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI). He is a trained Improvement Advisor and regularly speaks at Quality and Safety conferences around the world. He has extensive experience of working with large health systems in the Middle East and Asia. He has a deep understanding of healthcare systems around the world both from his experience as a JCI surveyor as well as through his role leading IHI’s work in the Middle East and Asia-Pacific. Previously Dr. Ali spent five years at the Abu Dhabi Health Services Co. (SEHA) in Abu Dhabi (UAE), initially as the Director of Clinical Affairs & Quality, Ambulatory Healthcare Services, and then latterly as the Group Quality and Physician Services Director. Additionally, he spent nearly three years as a surveyor for Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA). Dr. Ali served as a Clinical Director of Primary Care in Lanarkshire, Scotland, and was a GP Principal and partner at Strathaven Health Centre in Lanarkshire. He was also National Clinical Lead for the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP), Scotland’s flagship programme, Living Better, and served as Co-Chair/Primary Care Lead for the Respiratory Managed Clinical Network in NHS Lanarkshire. Dr. Ali is a graduate of the University of Glasgow and Imperial College, London, and he holds an MBA (with distinction) from the University of Strathclyde. Dr. Ali is a member of distinguished medical societies including the Royal College of General Practitioners (UK) and the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management (FMLM), UK, and has been appointed as a Fellow of the Faculty of Clinical Informatics in the UK.
Shafqat Malik

Shafqat Malik is the Chief Executive Officer of AS Investments Holding, a Public company established with the goal of investments in leading service providers in the field of physical health, mental health and special needs education and social care in the MENA region. He has over 23 years of professional hands on experience in the UK and Abu Dhabi in leading and developing the strategy, business development and financial functions of major companies. He is experienced in incorporating businesses, capital raising, developing private public partnership (PPP) structures, developing teams, establishing systems, optimizing processes, creating management reporting, and devising complex corporate business structuring in different international jurisdictions from capital, legal and tax perspectives.
Dr Usman Rehman
Director
Dr Rehman is an experienced GP and one of the founding partners of a Scottish primary care group looking after circa 60k patients.
He is actively involved in shaping primary care service delivery and implementing new models of care. Dr Rehman has been awarded a "Certficate of Commendation" for his contribution to patient care by the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP).
Furthermore, he has a keen interest in medical education and holds the post of Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Glasgow. He has been awarded a "Certificate of Excellence" for his contribution to teaching final year medical students. He also sits on the Admissions Committee for the University of Glasgow and is actively involved with the Exam Setting Committee. His interests in teaching have extended to training Advanced Nurse Practitioners for NHS24 and Paramedic Practitioners for the Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS).
When not working he enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, playing 5 a side football, and travelling
